A WORD FROM THE DIRECTOR

The Canadian Students’ House, la MEC, is located in the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris, in the 14 e arrondissement of the French capital. Since its creation in 1926, it has welcomed thousands of Canadian students, teachers, researchers and artists who have pursued their post-graduate studies and researches in the different universities of Paris. Centrally located, the House is an integral part of the intellectually and culturally stimulating environment of the Cité Universitaire’s 40 houses and the cosmopolitan bustle of Paris.

The House is proud to offer modern accommodations in a safe and beautifully green setting. Our staff is committed, attentive to your needs and dedicated to ensure you a comfortable stay in a convivial and welcoming academic community. A resident committee also provides social and cultural events, bringing dynamism and a sense of community to the day to day life of the residents.

Entirely renovated in 2006, the House provides a total of 123 rooms, 25 studios, two apartments, a computer room, a reading lounge, four collective kitchens, two terraces, a banquet hall and a student lounge. Each housing unit is equipped with an individual phone line, high speed internet, a refrigerator, as well as a private bathroom.

It is with great pleasure that I will welcome you here to the Canadian Students’ House. I assure you of my support to make your experience among us a memorable one. Most importantly, I hope you can find here an energetic environment for the successful completion of your studies and projects. Have a great stay in our House in the heart of this vibrant multicultural community.

I look forward to get to know you,

Pierre Letartre, Ph.D.
